movable shells
Μελέτη S. Kakavas
The shells can create autonomous neighborhoods - ecosystems within the city, concerning the resources consumption and the production of waste. The neighborhoods can self - manage natural resources, such as water, ground soil, renewable energy sources and waste. Apart from the direct demand for mass accommodation, the portable shells can cover individual needs of the city. The changes of the settlements are easily regulated by the individuals, or the community, one condition for this being the participation of the community. The cubic structures of the system, can create a variety of clusters which are to be absorbed by the city, while they can accommodate various uses and functions, and benefit the receiver - the city, contributing in sustainability.(thesis Msc ΕΑP)
